Passaic Avenue Shopping Plaza – Kearny, NJ
Role: Design Architect
The Passaic Avenue Shopping Plaza in Kearny, NJ, showcases a modernized retail frontage that blends functionality, visual appeal, and tenant flexibility. As the Design Architect, I led the facade renovation and site design to revitalize this commercial corridor and enhance its presence within the community.
The architectural design introduces clean horizontal lines, modern materials, and illuminated signage panels to highlight each tenant while maintaining a cohesive overall aesthetic. The exterior finish palette includes textured stone cladding, wood-look siding, and strategically placed lighting to create visual interest both day and night.
Anchored by tenants like Bubbakoo’s Burritos, MySmile Dental, and Susan’s Nail Salon, this retail plaza was designed with accessibility, visibility, and foot traffic in mind. Upgraded parking, pedestrian-friendly walkways, and clear storefront branding contribute to an elevated user experience and long-term tenant value.
This project reflects a strategic approach to suburban retail revitalization, aimed at increasing community engagement and economic opportunity through thoughtful design.
